So, you just want a magnet?

Magnets are a functional element in many fields of industry and are essential components in numerous everyday products. But, they are not all the same.

Modern technology has created many types of permanent magnets, each with distinct properties and operation conditions. They come in a variety of materials, shapes, sizes and strengths. Choosing the right one for an intended application requires consideration of its properties, the conditions in which it will operate, magnetic performance and cost. Some are stronger than others, some have higher corrosion resistance, some are hard and brittle, some are more efficient, some have a higher resistance to demagnetisation and some just don't like getting hot.

Sometimes only experimentation will determine which magnet is best for a particular application.
